“They weren’t aware of different hispanic cultures, they thought everything was Mexican,” Jennifer Santana, Hotel Manager at the Hampton Inn in Anderson, said of the city’s citizens. “When I’ve met people, they will be like ‘you’re not Mexican, what are you?’ And I’m like, ‘Hispanic, Puerto Rican,’ and they are like, ‘What is that?
